Looking forward to seeing what you create!

As much as I love tech, there’s still something awesome about reading physical books and magazines. The tactile experience, the lack of a screen, the intentional focus on just reading.

Another great thing is that I can keep a book on my desk or night stand as a visual cue to read. Digital books are easy to store and take notes, but they can also get buried in our busy lives.

Something talismanic Bout physical books. Especially novels.

Yeah. And I'm getting pretty excited, seeing what I'll be able to do in terms of wonderful versions of those physical books for my new releases!

I have SO MANY THOUGHTS about this post! I've spent several years working on an expanded definition of "visual communication" that fuses art and language to create a more luxurious, cohesive experience for consumers. There's so much overlap, so much voice in it. Huge fan of physical, tangible books that look as good as they read. Thanks for sharing!

I'm still trying to up my game, myself. I have a few special editions, but at this point I'm just happy to have everything available in nice-looking paperbacks. One thing at a time, I guess!

I'm definitely in the weird camp with you and Joanna. I've wanted to do this for a while and my books as they are now *are* beautiful.

But they could be more so, better binding, leather case or hardback with a gorgeous tactile cover.... YES PLEASE!

The obstacle for me is the logistics of getting the book to the reader.

I need to look into Direct Sales in more depth, but have you any nuggets on this?

I think the answer to your question is actually contained in this same comment! I credit a lot of what I learned on the topic, as well as the motivation to do it, to Joanna. Check out her episode on "The Minimum Viable Store."
